INTRODUCTION
Colowyo employs three full time professionals and up to five seasonal employees to plan, monitor and
supervise the land restoration programs. Colowyo owns all of the equipment necessary to perform all
phases of reclamation.
From the outset of operations, Colowyo has regarded its planned reclamation program as one of the
highest priorities of the mining operation.
Description of Organization of Permit Application
Colowyo has carefully chosen the format for this application. The application is arranged for easy
reference to specific sections of the Colorado regulations. Where applicable, cross-references have been
furnished to avoid redundancy and to facilitate the review. Supplemental information, not included in the
typed text of the application, is set forth as Figures, Tables, Maps or Exhibits. A comprehensive listing of
all figures, tables, maps and exhibits directly follows the Table of Contents to this application.
Since the submittal of the original permit application in 1981 and subsequent approval and issuance of the
permit on November 4, 1982, numerous minor revisions and technical revisions have been made to the
permit during the past permit terms. All of these revisions have been incorporated throughout this permit
document. Where appropriate, the revisions are included as part of the narrative, while at other times it is
appropriate to include the revisions as exhibits and only briefly addressed in the narrative.
An editorial change in the document involves the change in the format of the tables and figures
throughout the narrative. Where the original application numbered the tables and figures consecutively
throughout the document, this permit application provides for the numbering of tables and figures within
each section independent of other sections. This format will provide for easier insertion into the
document any future revisions to sections of the permit.
Introduction 6 Date Revised: 6/23/08
Revision No: MR-91
