• the soil; all of the SAR's in these soils were less than 2.0. Salinity problems in <br />general is of no consequence in these soils. <br />Table 3 shows the physical characteristics of the soils. The texture was <br />determined by the hydrometer method, and all were near the upper range of a silt <br />loam. This is an excellent texture for any soil. It represents a fairly general mixture <br />of sand, silt and clay, and as a result, the water holding capacity and workability <br />(tilth) of the soils is ideal. <br />The soils sampled and analyzed are of an excellent quality.
