•

--R -00q
• INTRODUCTION - TECHNICAL REVISION BASIS
In July of 1994 Summit County producers of biosolids renewed efforts to expand the
Biosolids land application program at Climax Mine. Climax Molybdenum Company and
the Summit County biosolids producers, Breckenridge Sanitation District, Copper
Mountain Water and Sanitation District, Frisco Sanitation District, Silverthorne/Dillon
Joint Authority, and Snake River Wastewater Treatment Plant, have developed an
agreement for a large scale biosolids reclamation project. The producers as joint
permitees, submitted a Letter of Intent under the Colorado Biosolids Regulation (5 CCR
1002-19, 4.9.0) to land apply Grade B biosolids on 320 acres of the Robinson Tailing
Impoundment that was capped with waste rock during the summer of 1994. A Notice of
Authorization was issued to the producers in Summit County on December 15, 1994.
As this program was not specifically addressed in the original MLRD Permit No. 77-493
and was not part of the 1989 Permit Amendment, Climax is herein submitting
documentation to support a Technical Revision to current permit conditions.
is
•
