Sherman
Executive Director
Dick Wolfe, P.E.
Director
The Division of Water Resources has reviewed the Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C-
1996-083), Technical Revision Application No. 57 (TR-57). The revision proposes to
pump mine water from the active Bowie No. 2 Mine underground B-seam workings into
the adjacent underground B-seam workings of the abandoned Somerset Mine. Bowie
states that the mine water in the Somerset Mine would eventually seep into the North
Fork of the Gunnison River. The SEO has no objections to the applicant's proposed
project, as long as, pumped water is not put to any use and is discharged to the North
Fork of the Gunnison River as proposed in the revision.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at this office at (303) 866-3587.
Sincerely,
Mark J.
