TXIBOULDERO
To: State of Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street
From: Randy Moulton
Plant Manager
TXI Boulder
RE: Permit No. M1988-108
Western Aggregates, Mining Report
Date 11/11/2008
Western Aggregates TXI Boulder Permit Number 1988-108 is actively mining and
reclaiming at 11728 Hwy. 93 near Boulder, Co.
• During the year ending 2008 all pit benching and the floor elevations were
maintained at same elevation as the previous year. (Quarry has reached permitted
depth).
• Currently Western Aggregates TXI Boulder has about 20 acres of quarry open to
mining.
• Western Aggregates has opened the planned 3-7 acres in the 2008 year in the Quarry
to the south as noted it would in the 2007 report.
Western Aggregates is currently slopping the north side of the quarry, to the proper
Grade and will seed the area. We still have future plans relocate the pond area to the
South side of the existing pond. This change is anticipated in the spring of 2009, provided
reclamation goes well this winter and snow fall is better than the previous years.
Western Aggregates continues to work on the Knapp weed issue. A cooperative
Knapp weed program with our neighbors has been successful and includes all of TXI
Boulder's leased and fee property.
