I am approving this extension due to the apparent confusion over the different
bond increase and submittal date regarding your adjoining permitted area (the Idaho Mine and
Mill). These two sites, though possibly operated together, are under different permits and require
separate bonds.
As the attached 11/20/07 letter indicates, the present May Day Mine bond is $5,421 and the new
total bond required is $10,881. This means that the additional bond amount needed is $5,460.
According to statute, the additional bond must be provided within 60 days of notification, making
this increase due by March 10, 2008. Please see the attached letter and bond calculation packet
for additional details regarding the figures and bond submittal information.
Sincerely,
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Encl: 11/20/07 letter and bond estimate packet
Ec (w/o encl): Tony Waldron, DRMS
Elizabeth Taliaferro, DRMS
Cc (w/encl): John Ferguson, Wildcat Mining Corp., PO Box 2030, Durango, CO 81302
(c:\08-01 docs/mayday sot fw incr ext/rco)
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines
