(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-9001-106
INSPECTION DATE: I Q. xi/np INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: KAR
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety's 4-year
monitoring program. Present at the inspection was Kate Pickford, DRMS. Weather at the time of the
inspection was cloudy, windy, and approximately 45 degrees.
2. The site is accessed off of CR 543 approximately 1/2 mile south of its poorly marked intersection with Hwy
69, located on the east edge of Gardner. The access road is shared with another operation, the Leone-
Gardner Gravel site, operated by Hard Rock Paving and Redi Mix. The Orlando Pit is located to the
south of the Leone-Gardner Gravel site. A sign is posted at the entrance and the activity at the site
appears to be contained within the permit boundaries.
3. Disturbance at the site consists of a shallow depression. Topsoil is stockpiled along the west side of the
site along the top of the mined slope. There are some weeds becoming established at the site and the
county should take measures to prevent them from becoming more established at the site. The
adjacent operation has been excavated deeper that this site has, and that operation has exposed
groundwater. The county should exercise caution while mining not to excavate deep enough at this
site to expose groundwater.
4. All activities at the site appear to be in compliance with the permit and the rules and regulations.
Cc: ? CE
? BL
I & E Contact Address ? FS
? HW
NAME: Bill Brunelli ?
