MANAGEMENT <br />RECEIVED <br />Nov 1,, 7 2008 <br />Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety <br />On behalf of Bowie Resources LLC, enclosed is an application for a technical revision <br />to allow water to be pumped from the D-Seam dewatering well to the B-Seam. The D- <br />Seam dewatering well is located along Hubbard Creek road approximately 1,000 feet <br />north of the ventilation shaft. The water will be pumped from the D-Seam dewatering <br />well down the shaft to the active B-Seam workings. <br />The D-Seam dewatering well was authorized by technical revision number 53. TR-53 <br />also authorized the installation of a pipeline to and into the shaft. <br />The following text from page 2.05-35i explains the status of the D-Seam dewatering <br />well. <br />"During late 2008 a dewatering well will be installed in the D-Seam near the Mouth of <br />Dove Gulch. Water from the well will be piped to the active B-Seam workings through the <br />nearby ventilation shaft. A pump powered by a diesel generator will be installed in the <br />well. A six inch diameter water line will be installed from the dewatering well to and into <br />the shaft. The 1,000 foot long water line will buried along the inside edge of Hubbard <br />Creek road. The dewatering well will not be put into service until additional approvals are <br />obtained from the DRMS." <br />Thus, approval of this technical revision application will allow the Operator to put <br />the dewatering well in service. The water will be stored in the B-Seam sumps <br />until a mine water discharge option is approved by DRMS. <br />Through TR-54, the Operator has applied for approval to discharge water directly <br />to the North Fork of the Gunnison River. Through TR-57, the Operator has <br />applied for approval to discharge water into the old U. S. Steel Mine. Both of
