c. On revised page 2.05-50 there is discussion of the "1 ORT water transfer pipeline". This
same line is labeled, in extremely minute font, on Map 16 as "1 ORT dewatering waterline".
Please assure the names are consistent between map and text.
d. On revised page 2.05-50.5 there is discussion of the "1 ORT Dewatering Well #2", while
elsewhere in the text and on Map 16 this structure is named "1 ORT Borehole #2. Please use
consistent names throughout both text and Map.
e. Revised page 2.05-50.5 also describes the "mine water return line" at the l ORT Borehole
area. None of the waterlines shown on Map 16 are labeled "mine water return line". Please
use consistent names throughout both text and Map.
f. Revised page 2.05-50.6 describes the EMD dewatering facility. Elsewhere in the text and
on Map 16 this area is described as the l ORT Borehole area. Please stay consistent in
naming designations.
g. Revised page 2.05-55 refers to the l ORT Dewatering Wells No.1 and 2 while elsewhere
these features are called l ORT Borehole 1 and 2. Please stay consistent in naming
designations.
7. Revised page 2.05-50 indicates that production mine water can discharge at the NW Mains Ventilation
Shaft. This vent shaft is not shown on Map 16. If the NW vent shaft is a part of the mine water
management process, then it needs to be shown on Map 16. If it is not a part of the mine water
management system, then the text should be revised.
8. Revised page 2.05-50 discusses that water from the Fish Creek Borehole (FCBH) and Fish Creek Vent
Shaft (FCVS) can be pumped eastward to FCM-2 or the Barricade Chamber. The Division
understands that water is piped into underground working via either of these two boreholes. This
portion of the text also states that Mine water can also continue eastward at this point to l ORT
Boreholes. A telephone conversation with Jerry Nettleton on November 7, 2008, indicates that mine
water would not be piped eastward from FCM-2 or the Barricade Chamber to l ORT Boreholes. Please
correct this description in the text.
9. Revised page 2.05-50.4 describes TORT Borehole #1 as having a 350 gpm pump. TCC has indicated
that this pump has been replaced with a 600 gpm pump. Please update this text to the current size
pump and remain consistent with descriptions on Map 16.
10. Map 16 needs to correctly show the discharge location for CPDS permit COG 850048 outfall 001.
The on-the-ground location varies slightly from that shown on the map.
11. It is not clear from Map 16 which waterlines are located on the surface and which are underground.
Inclusion of a Map Legend, or different shading of surface versus underground features could clarify
this. Please also make sure that the waterlines lengths described in the text agree with the waterline
lengths depicted on Map 16.
12. Due to the complexity of the Mine Watering System the Division believes that a concise summary of
TCC's Mine water handling system needs to be included in the text. The summary would use
consistent names that are in agreement with names shown on Map 16. The summary would also
clearly describe the direction of water flow, transfer points and discharge points.
