It is a direct result of the Agree-
ment , Stipulation and Order (para. #3 ) entered into by the
Climax Molybdenum Company and the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board on December 18, 1986 . The length of
time involved in finalizing the amendment is due , in part ,
to continuing changes in planning at the Climax Mine and
to the changes in personnel at the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Division in 1988 and 1989 . The general format
and map scales were agreed to by Mr. Edward Bischoff prior
to his leaving the Division. The map scales are 1: 1000 as
opposed to 1: 600 because of the size of the Climax land
holdings . It was decided that the former scale was much
more workable and still presented the necessary detail .
The detailed rationale for the amendment is explained in
the Introduction.
As per Rule 2. 2, all notice procedures will be met .
Please contact me at ( 303) 231-0675 if additional informa-
tion is required or if you have any questions .
Sin erely,
J ffrey Todd
JWT:nc
Enclosures
