Reclamation Plan
6.45 Exhibit (E) Reclamation Plan
E3CMrr "E"
(1) The Operator/Applicant will reclaim this mine site back to rangeland with the possibilities of
residential home sites in the future. No trees, shrubs or bushy-type vegetation will be planted, only
the appropriate grasses selected by the NRCS will be used. The site will be graded to compliment
the surrounding topography. The pit floor will be flat and the slopes will be graded at 3H:1 V or
flatter. The saved topsoil (please see Mining Map Exhibit C for locations) will be spread over all the
disturbed areas and prepared for seeding according to the NRCS recommendations. Topsoil will be
replaced at 8" to 12".
(2) The entire affected area will be reclaimed as rangeland with home sites planned for future use.
This use was selected by the landowners as being consistent with the other acreage they own
adjacent to the affected area. The landowners do not want the access/haul road reclaimed, as it will
provide ingress and egress to the balance of their acreage, and will allow for cattle feeding and the
residential development.
(a) Earthmoving for reclamation will be simple and typical of this type deposit. Mining
will leave a level pit floor with some slight (plus/minus 6") differential contours to facilitate
revegetation and to conform more closely to the surrounding topography. A Special Use Permit
(SUP) application as been "GRANTED" by the Las Animas County Planning and Land Use Office
and the Las Animas County Commissioners for gravel mining at this location.
(b) Post mining land use as rangelandand residential development is consistentwith the land
use in the vicinity. The landowner will use this area as rangeland and as a residential development
area.
(c) A description of how the Reclamation Plan will be implemented to meet each applicable
requirement of Section 3. 1, Reclamation Performance Standards. The land is surveyed and ready for
residential development presently. See the pre-mining map that shows the tracts.
3.1.1 Establishing Post-Mining Use
(1) The Operator/Applicant,in consultation with the Landowners (also the applicant), have decided
to reclaim the affected area back to rangeland and residential development.
(2) The results of the decisions were formulated into the reclamation plan. This application, of
which this is a part, and all ofthe decisions formulatedinto it, constitute what the applicant believes
is an appropriate and workable Reclamation Plan.
3.1.2 Reclaiming Substituted Land.
Reclaiming substitute land is not a consideration of this operation.
