(e) An approximate timetable to describe the mining operation is shown on the Mining Plan Map
- Exhibit "C". The life of this mine may extend beyond the 15 years as listed on the mining plan map,
this depends upon demand for the product; this time line may be shorter or longer. This mine will
be a year round operation with no planned extended cessation of operations at this mine site. It is
proposed to use a floating bond on 20 acres on this operation as mining is completed in the mining
units as proposed (see Mining Map Exhibit "C"). The mining plan has five (5) phases to be
excavated ranging in size from about 6.32 acres to 17.61 acres. It is planned that it will take
approximately three (3) to five (5) years per phase.
(i) The estimate of the periods of time, which is stated above of three to five (3-5) years per phase,
is a best estimate at this time. Then it will take between 3 to 5 years to establish the reclaimed area
back to rangeland that may be considered for release by the Mined Land Reclamation Board of the
Division ofMining and Geology. The reclamationwill be an ongoing process as soon as the first unit
is deemed to have enough land area ready reclamation will start. The phasing of the mining and
reclamation will followa natural progression timing is critical and the final reclamationis the ultimate
goal with out a long delay.
(ii) As stated in this report, the mining and affected land will range between 6.32 to 17.61 acres with
a maximum of 20 acres being disturbed at any time. Reclamation would be occurring on the lands
mined out concurrently with mining.
(iii) The sequence in which each stage or phase will be carried out is outlined in this report. Also,
please see Mining Map Exhibit "C". Mining will start in phase (1) one in the southwest part of the
permitted area and move to the east. Next mining will start in phase (2) two starting in the west
portion of the phase and move north. Thirdly phase (3) three will begin in the south portion of the
phase and move to the north. The fourth phase (4) four will start in the most east portion and move
west. Phase (5) five will start in the east and move west
(f) The backsloping and final pit floor will be done at the same time with the mining. It is planned
to start reclaiming 5 to 10 acres areas as they are deemed mined-out. This allows the operator the
allotted time to establish a planned reclamationplan and continue to mine, hence the 20-acre floating
bond.
As stated before, this site is on an upland terrace deposit with the following characteristics:
(i) The areas to be mined
Lorencito-Sarcillo-Trujillo
complex, 3 to 25 percent
slopes
Truffllo loam, 3 to l percent
slopes
