III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Topsoil
Topsoil in the area is tan in color, and very thin. At each site, the soil on the surface is now a
grayish green due to the drill cuttings that were temporarily piled adjacent to the hole (Figure 3).
It is unknown whether this difference will present any obstacle to future vegetation success.
Fish & Wildlife
Abundant signs of elk and deer were observed throughout the exploration area.
Revegetation
A seed mixture specified by the BLM was scattered at each exploration site, and across the
track areas as needed. Establishment of vegetation is varied; the area is very dry, and it is likely
that successful establishment will take time. The BLM continues to monitor the sites for
compliance with the agency's own requirements.
Reclamation Success
Drilling and reclamation of the Third Park Federal exploration holes appears to have been
accomplished in accordance with DRMS requirements and with details presented in WFC's NOI
application. Reclamation efforts appear to be succeeding, and physical evidence of the
operation is minimal (Figure 4).
Third Park Federal NOI X-2007-142-10 16-Oct-2008
-2-
