Roadside ditches appeared to be in compliance with no problems noted. Facilities area ditches <br /> appeared to be in compliance and no problems were noted. <br /> Diversion ditches and culverts in and around the facilities area appeared to be functioning as <br /> permitted. <br /> Maintenance had been completed on ditches and erosion under and around the conveyor system. <br /> Processing Waste <br /> Refuse Pile - 2/3/4 appeared to be well compacted and stable. Grading appeared to allow good run- <br /> off to ponds. No problems were noted. Refuse Pile- 5 appeared to be well compacted and stable. <br /> Both sites appeared to show good run-off to the ponds via the collection ditches. Due to the dry <br /> conditions, a water truck was in the process of watering RP-5 at the time of the inspection. Dust was <br /> not a problem during the inspection. The eastern slopes of RP-2/3/4 were being graded at the time of <br /> the inspection. Evidence of grading of all refuse pile slopes was noted during the inspection. <br /> Support Facilities <br /> Surface facilities in and around the office and maintenance facilities appeared to be in compliance. <br /> No problems were noted. <br /> The area around the rock dust tank RDH-2 was stable at the time of the inspection with no problems <br /> noted. <br /> The load out area was stable at the time of the inspection. No problems were noted. <br /> The area in and around the slot storage appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. No <br /> erosion was noted on the pad or the slopes of the pad at the time of the inspection. <br /> The water storage tank area appeared stable with good drainage and no problems noted. <br /> Revegetation <br /> RP-1, along with the entire are of the mine, has experienced a heavy amount of cheatgrass. There <br /> did not appear to be any problems with weeds or erosion at the time of the inspection. Revegetation <br /> of the east portal was established with good cover. <br /> Reclamation Success <br /> Refuse Pile RP-1 has been reclaimed and is stable with no problems noted. Vegetation appears to be <br /> coming in a high amount with no problems noted. The east portal site has been reclaimed and has <br /> shown to be stable with no signs of erosion and good vegetation establishment. <br /> Overall, the Deserado Mine is in good condition and appears to be conducting operations as required. <br />
