Ms:.Joanna Williams
RE: WW Farms Expansion SWSP Request
April 22,. 2008
• 10.5 acre-feeti of effluent from City of Thornton
? Approximately 2 acre-feet each month from November through March
• 30 acre-feet from Centennial typically taken during October
The only other demand on these .lease. sources is the depletions under the CoSSP for 2008. As
presented in the CoSSP for 2008 for Aggregate there is more -than. enough excessive South Platte
Replacement water to make the-winter replacements for.this additional site. The excess water.in
2008 is as follows:
• Oct: 24.25 of
• Nov: 44.75 of
• Dec: 89:76 _af
• Jan: 153.54 of
• Feb: 119.05 of
• Mar: 134.71 'af
Currently Aggregate owns 11 shares of the Whitney Ditch that they have been using for
augmentation. and will add the 2.5 shares to that augmentation structure that is located in the
Northwest '/a of Section 33, Township 6 North, Range 66 West. Adequate accounting for the
water commissioner and Division Engineer's Office will;be reported as it has been in the past.
Applegate Group will keep the accounting records and will likely provide daily measurements
for the Whitney shares and monthly summaries of site depletions. See Table 5 for the proposed
accounting for this site.
SITE DEWATERING
The WW. Farms Expansion site will not be dewatered in 2008. We will monitor the dewatering
rates when mining begins at this site and continuously record throughout the project. The
original WW Farms site has been dewatered at a rate ranging from 300 up to 750 gpm per day.
We expect similar rates at the expansion site.
LONG-TERM AUGMENTATION
The final reclamation'plans are not complete but in the event that open pits are left behind,
Aggregate will' have a water court application filed for a plan for augmentation. to cover the
.depletions three years prior to. completion of reclamation.
Currently, the active WW Farms mining operation has a corporate surety bond in the amount of
$115,480. This bond will have to be increased to cover the "expansion area" but it has not been
obtained yet, as the, amendment has to be approved first. A portion of this . amount will be
available in the unlikely event that the mining operator abandons the mining site.
WELL PERMIT
Aggregate will file for a new permit to cover the "expansion area" prior to mining. This well
permit will include a 600-foot spacing evaluation for all of the surrounding wells. Currently,
Permit No. 62555-F is issued for the original WW Farms site.
River Resource
Amendment to Permit M1999098 112C
Page G15 of G37
