EXHIBIT G
Water Information
Introduction
The proposed amendment to the current Riverview Resource site is to the north and to
the east of the existing site. These new areas are located in the Southwest Y4 of
Section 29 and the Northwest Y4 of Section 33, Township 6 North, Range 66 West, Sixth
P. M. in Weld County. Figure G-1 shows the existing Riverview Resource area outline
in black and the amended areas are shown in hatching.
We will refer to the first amended site as the "north site" and is located on
the northeast corner of 83rd Avenue and O Street in Greeley.
The second site is on the southeast corner of 71St Avenue and O Street
and we will call this the "east site".
The operation will consist of sand and gravel production and will impact the Cache La
Poudre River (Poudre) in the form of depletions due to evaporation and operational
losses associated with mining. The duration of mining will last approximately 12 to 15
years depending on the economic conditions.
The mining operation will impact groundwater systems hydraulically connected to the
Poudre River. The depth to groundwater ranges from 14 to 19 feet below the ground
surface on the north site and 4 to 6 feet below the ground surface on the east site. The
Poudre River runs parallel to this site along the southern edge of the original Riverview
Resource boundary.
The amended locations lie approximately a quarter to a half mile north of the Poudre
River. The Jones Ditch and Greeley No. 3 Ditch are south of the original site boundary.
The Whitney Ditch enters this site from the northwest and basically flows through the
middle of the entire site and terminates in the Poudre River at the most southeastern
corner of the original site boundary. Storms Lake Drainage is a natural drainage that
runs along the southwestern corner of the "north" amended area and south through the
original site.
To enable dry mining at the site, dewatering trenches will be constructed around the
perimeter of the pit. Water from the dewatering trenches will be discharged to the
Poudre River in accordance with the existing operation's Colorado Discharge Permitting
System (CDPS) permit (Permit Number COG-500000, Facility COG-500345). There
are no new proposed discharge points to the river at this time, however the CDPS
permit will be amended if it is determined that additional discharge points are
necessary.
Once an amendment site is dewatered the only exposed surface water will be in
dewatering trenches and that will be a minimal area of approximately 1 acre in size.
