Additional Sheet
2008 Annual Report
Canyon Dolomite Quarry
M-1977-376
Continental Materials Corporation
Anniversary Date: September 22
Reason for Late Report: In July the person who handles the annual reports left the company. In the process, a
few things got misplaced and were not addressed in a timely fashion. This annual report was one of them. Please
excuse the lateness of this annual report
Overview of Permit Year: During the 2007/2008 operating year very little mining occurred at the site. Much
of the year was spent having a new topographic map prepared and initiating the preparation of a new mining
and reclamation plan for the site.
Annual Report Maps: There are two annual report maps included in this report. Map 1 shows the extent of
disturbance on the site as divided into two categories in the context of the entire site. Any land that is not color
shaded is unaffected by the mining operation. Map 2 focuses on the specific areas where mining is or has
occurred. Map 1 has a scale of 1" = 900' while Map 2 has a scale of 1" = 500'
Affected Lands: All disturbance in the last year was within previously disturbed land. No new unaffected
land was affected. The acreage of land within the recent disturbance category is 18.24. The acreage of
disturbance created by previous mining, including very old, pre-law mining is 46.46. It is important to note that
this total of 64.7 acres was all disturbed by previous operators. That is, no new undisturbed land has been
disturbed since the current permittee took over the operation.
Work Anticipated in 2008/2009: Any additional mining will be done within the mining area already
disturbed. It is not expected that much material will be extracted until the new mining and reclamation plans are
developed. There may be a slight expansion of the current working face, but that expansion would likely not
exceed a few tens of feet to the south. Until an approach can be developed to efficiently mine and reclaim the
site is developed, disturbance of any new land will not occur and additional disturbance within existing
disturbances will be limited in extent.
Bonding: This operation is covered under a self bonding arrangement.
Continental Materials 2008 Annual Report M-1977-376 Canyon Dolomite Quarry Page 1 of 1
