• Exhibit "D"
Palmer Pipe & Construction
Reclamation Plan
This application is for a permit to stockpile gravel, allow for the sale of
the material and the subsequent reclamation of the site. There is no
mining activity proposed and only the footprint of the stockpile
requires reclamation.
The 2-acre Affected Acreage is a part of a subdivision plan known as
Fork Horn Mesa Subdivision, Project 2007-0278. The post-mine use is
residential. The reclamation of the site shall be sufficient to control
weeds and provide for surface stabilization. The weed plan submitted
to La Plata County with the application for the Fork Horn Mesa
• Subdivision is included here as a part of this Exhibit.
The seed mix and the percentages within the mix are shown below. This
mix will be purchased from Southwest Seed and this is their native
grass seed most appropriate for the area. The Affected Acreage will
be disked and the seed drilled in at a rate of 40 per square foot.
Groundcover will be reestablished at a quality and rate consistent with
surrounding unaffected property. The cost is estimated to be $2000
per acre.
The seed will be planted as soon as weather permits after the stockpile
has been removed from the Affected Acreage (by the Spring of '09).
Applicant plans to reseed the area just prior to winter freeze in order
to utilize the winter moisture. If this isn't possible, then the land will
be seeded in spring and watered once with a water tanker truck.
There are no slopes to stabilize - the Affected Area is relatively flat.
