me if you have any questions about the figures. State law requires that an operator must provide the
necessary bond increase within 60 days after notification.
The existing bond amount is $14,971, in the form of a letter of credit. The updated bond amount is
$28,034, reflecting an increase of $13,063. You may post another letter of credit or another type of
bond. The bond forms we accept are found on the Division's website: httn:mining.state.co.us. Please
download, print, and fill out the proper form(s), and send them with your financial warranty to the
Denver office. I recommend that you contact Ms. Elizabeth Taliaferro during this process (see phone
number on letterhead above), since she is the Division's staff bond authority and can assist you with
the forms.
Please be aware that the approved conversion CN-1 will not become fully effective until the bond
increase has been accepted by the Division. Since this can sometimes take some time to complete, I
suggest you start promptly.
I can be reached at the Division's Durango field office (new address): 691 CR 233, Room A-2,
Durango, CO 81301; telephone 970-247-5193.
Sincerely,

Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Encl: Reclamation cost packet
Cc(w/o encl): Linda DeHerrera, Conejos county Land Use, PO Box 157, Conejos, CO 81129
Ec(w/o encl): Steve Shuey, DRMS Grand Junction
CERTIFICATE OF SERVICE
I, Bob Oswald, certify that I mailed a true and complete copy of the forgoing document (conversion
approval letter and notice of bond increase) to the operator at his address of record, and to those others
designated herein to receive copies, by depositing those documents with the US Postal Service, postage
paid, on the signature date shown below.
AIL (signature) U U
(date)
(cA08-10 docAgallegos cnI appr fw incr nor/rco)
