NMD (Pauels 17-Right through 25-Right, PR03-06 and PR06-07) <br />The same mining method utilized in the southern half of the NMD will be used to extract coal from the northern <br />half of the NMD. The existing surface facilities, including the EMD ventilation site and 18-Right and 6-Main <br />North Ventilation Shafts and associated support facilities, will be used for mining of coal in this part of the NMD <br />permit area. <br />WMD (Panels 12-Left through 17-Left, PR06-07) <br />The same mining method utilized in the NMD will be used to extract coal from the WMD. The existing surface <br />facilities, including the 18-Right and 6-Main North Ventilation Shafts and associated support facilities, will be used <br />for mining of coal in this part of the WMD permit area. <br />~ 05 , 'S (2) Oueration Description <br />(a) Surface mining. A detailed narrative description and appropriate map(s) prepared in <br />accordance with 2.10 describing the land to be affected within the permit area accordin tg o the proposed sequence <br />of mining and reclamation. Each narrative and/or map shall include a detailed timetable sufficient to describe the <br />various miningphases proposed by the applicant. the maximum acreage proposed for each phase of the operations <br />within the permit area must be specified. <br />RESPONSE <br />No surface mining is planned in this application. Therefore, the requirements of this Section are not applicable to <br />the Foidel Creek operation, nor the Fish Creek Tipple operation <br />(b) Underground mining. A detailed narrative and appropriate map(s) prepared according to the standards of <br />2.10, sufficient to describe all proposed surface disturbances to be associated with the underground mining <br />activities within the permit area. Each operation plan shall include a narrative, cross sections, map(s), and <br />timetable(s) sufficient to describe the areal extent of the ro osed underground workings and the stratum to be <br />affected. <br />PR06-07 2.05-1 1.1 11/27/06 <br />
