Sherman <br />Cresson Project; File # M-1980-244 Executive Director <br />On October 17, 2008, the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (DRMS) issued its recommendation <br />for approval, over objections, of the Cripple Creek & Victor Mining Company's (CC&VG) Cresson Project <br />Amendment # 9. The Amendment application was filed on April 15, 2008 and called complete on April 28, <br />2008. The public comment period ended on June 17, 2008. The applicant proposes to 1) change the permit <br />boundary in the Grassy Valley Area, 2) increase the affected acres by adding, mining areas associated with <br />the main Cresson, Wild horse and North Cresson, 3) Increase the Squaw Gulch and East Cresson <br />overburden areas, 4) build a new valley leach facility in the already affected area in Arequa Gulch <br />overburden storage areas, 5) increase the ore lift in the already constructed valley leach facilities Phases I <br />thru IV, from the current 590 feet to 800 feet, 6) add an enrichment tank that will allow an additional 14,900 <br />gpm, to the valley leach facility, 7) change the access road of the fuel supply route from Areqa to Iron Clad, <br />8) re-build a new geology building in the Ajax head frame area, 9) re- locate the existing sub-station and 10) <br />incorporate permit # M-1991-134 into the Cresson Project permit area. The total permit area of 5847 acres <br />will remain unchanged from previous application and amendment approvals. The total affected area will be <br />approximately 4200 acres. <br />Objections <br />The Division reviewed timely objections submitted by the following individuals during the public comment <br />period.
