Narrowband and 113 octave band spectra were recorded at the industrial
facility as well as in the community. Ground vibration levels were compared with
groundborne criteria established by ANSI, Caltrans, VDI and a number of other
engineering organizations.
Project Objective:
• Characterize groundborne vibration levels in and around the industrial facility.
• Determine if groundborne vibration levels exceeded the threshold of human perceptibility
• Determine if the groundborne vibration levels could result in structural damage in nearby
residences.
• Design vibration control measures to reduce groundborne excitation.
Portable Rock
Crusher
located next
to a
residential
community.
