(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1978-066
INSPECTION DATE 9/9/08
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS RCO
This inspection was performed by the Division as part of its monitoring of Construction Materials 112c permits. The operator
was contacted about the scheduled inspection. The operator's representative named on page one was present during the
inspection. The required permit ID sign and boundary markers are all present.
The site is in the active mining stage. Excavation at the site has extended the pit limits as far as possible to the north, west and
east. Future excavation will continue to the south. Some pit slope grading has been carried out on the east and west, but
those slopes are not fully reclaimed yet. The present limits of the pit allow sufficient maneuvering room for reclamation
equipment to reduce the highwalls.
No processing is carried out here, but there are stockpiles of pitrun and product in the pit. There are also piles of imported
materials: silt/growth medium and cobbles (potato rock) in the pit. These materials are benign, but such importation is not
included in the present approved plan. The approved plan should be revised to include such activity, or the importation should
cease. If the operator wishes to discuss a technical revision please contact this office.
The northern pit wall and the pit floor are dry; no seepage from the nearby concrete-lined ditches or the bentonite-lined pond is
occurring as in the past.
The site is very clean and orderly. There was no debris or contaminants. There were no noxious weeds or erosion features
noted.
No further items were observed during the inspection. Responses to this inspection report should be directed to this inspector
at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 691 County Road 233, Suite A-2, Durango, Colorado 81301. (Please note:
As of 7/1/08 the Durango Field Office moved to the new address shown above Please revise your records as
necessary.)
I & E Contact Address cc: Steve Shuey, DRMS
?
