Exhibit C - Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map of Affected Lands
A current map denoting existing topography with contour lines as prepared in
cooperation with the Bent County Conservation Service is included herewith.
6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan
Mining in the area will not be intermittent; if the original Exhibit D as submitted
with the application denoted this impression it was incorrect. Mining, once
commenced, will be on a continual basis.
6.4.5 Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
It is not anticipated that any reclamation of this pit will take place until after all
available materials have been mined. At the commencement of this process all
removed topsoil will be initially utilized and seeding of the area will begin as
based on the recommendations of the Bent Soil Conservation District. All topsoil
will be protected and seeded as necessary if it is anticipated that the life of the
stockpile will be greater than 180 days. In that it is not anticipated that
reclamation will occur until after all materials have been mined we anticipate at
the outset that all topsoil will be vegetated to assure it will be in a usable
condition at the time reclamation does get underway.
Pure live seeds will be used for re-vegetation in accordance with the
recommendation of the Bent Soil Conservation District and will occur in early
spring or early fall at the rate of 12 to 15 pounds per acre. It is not intended that
any fertilizer will be required, however in the event it is determined that either
mulch or fertilizer is needed Bent County will be using manure and straw.
As indicated mining will not be intermittent; the time required for reclamation will
be contingent upon on the availability of moisture.
The seedbed will be prepared by utilizing 4-6 inches of the salvaged topsoil and
seeding as required. The area will be disked and drilled.
Exhibit F - Reclamation Plan Map
Please see the attached Exhibit F reclamation plan map. Reclamation sloping
will be on the ratio of 3-1 from the exterior inward from all sides of the permitted
area.
Exhibit J - Vegetation Information
Blue Grama is the present plant community found on the site and it is of
approximate 2-3 inches in height. Information is enclosed as provided by the
local NRCS office.
2
