In April 2008, Mr. Miller noted that the
pvc casing extending above ground at site 5MW had been broken. He attempted to collect a water
level measurement, but detected no water in the well and assumed that the well was dry. The well was
subsequently repaired and checked against available survey data. Mr. Miller had a similar occurrence
with 5MW in May. By June this situation came to my attention when I received the field data.
Reviewing the historical data, we came to the conclusion that some soil may have entered the well and
bridged, preventing a water measurement. Information on the bridging incident was provided to North
West Colorado Consultants, for inclusion in their quarterly report. After rigging a metal rod to a winch
cable, Mr. Miller was able to eliminate the bridge and resume regular monitoring of 5MW.
I apologize for not reporting this to you directly. Please contact me directly at (970) 870-2750 with
any questions.
Best regards,
Twentymile Coal Company
Brian.A. Watterson, P.G.
'Geologist ' -
