Ill. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br /> Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br /> during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br /> and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br /> This was a partial inspection of the Eastside Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of DMG. No company <br /> representative was present during the inspection. The Eastside Mine is in reclamation only status. <br /> Weather conditions on site were clear and warm. Ground conditions were damp. <br /> Signs & Markers Mine ID sign was posted, and all information appeared accurate. Pursuant to <br /> Sections 4.30.1 and 4.30.2, the operator has included on the mine ID sign the name, address, and <br /> telephone of the Division office where the mining and reclamation permit is filed. This sign is visible <br /> from the county road. <br /> Hydrologic Balance The sediment pond was dry and no recent discharge was noted. The pond <br /> embankment was well vegetated and stable and the spillways were in good repair. The permanent <br /> diversion ditch was in good repair, and well vegetated. The operator should finish the lower portion of <br /> the drainage where it ties into the natural drainage this field season. The mine water pipe was not <br /> discharging, and no recent discharge was noted. <br /> Backfilling & Grading The backfilled and graded area shows no signs of erosion or stability <br /> concerns. The slopes are well vegetated with numerous grasses and small shrubs. <br /> Reveoetation The vegetated noted on the mine site are as follows; Yellow Sweet clover, Indian <br /> Ricegrass, Western Wheatgrass, small shrubs, smooth brome, cheatgrass, and many other <br /> perennials that could not be identified. This would be the third growing season at the mine. <br /> Vegetation is well established and diverse. <br />
