MANAGEMENT
The DRMS' letter dated October 2, 2008 transmitted its adequacy response for the
referenced permit revision. On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, following are its
responses to the DRMS' comments and concerns.
2A. Down gradient monitoring wells.
1. BRL did not provide cross-sections for the upper perched aquifer because the
aquifer is discontinuous. The first paragraph on page 2.04-28 was expanded to
discuss the difference between the discontinuous upper perched water bearing
and the more continuous lower perched water bearing zone.
2. BRL reviewed the single point elevations that were approved on Map 11 (TR-47).
The following comments and explanations are provided:
a. The elevation for DH-57 was changed back to the approved value.
b. The elevation for DH-58a was established by averaging the data for the
period from November 1999 through October 2003. During this period the
water level in DH-58a dropped. The elevation increased from the prior
PR-10 submittal because BRL discovered some data points that were not
in the electronic data base.
c. The elevation for DH-66 was established by averaging three data points.
d. DH-65 located in about the center of section 33 was completed above the
D-Seam and the well is dry. Therefore DH-65 was removed from Map 11
and shown as dry on Map 10.
e. Because of the change in elevation at DH-57 and DH-58a, Map 11 and
Map 11-1 were amended and are enclosed.
f. On Map 10, average elevations were utilized to update the single point
source elevations for DH-57a, DH-58 and DH-67-abv.
