Where this soil is cultivated, soil blowing and loss of water through runoff are severe
hazards.
Wiley Soils, eroded (0 to 5 percent slopes) (Ws2): These soils occur in small areas
throughout the county. The surface layer is loam or silty clay loam, is thin, and in places
has been removed through erosion. In some areas, lime spots are on the surface. Surface
runoff is medium to rapid. Because the surface layer is eroded, this soil does not take in
water as rapidly as the soil described as typical for the series. It has a moderate to slow
water intake rate.
