The bond release application
was found complete by this Division on October 3, 2008. Trapper Mine is requesting a Phase I Bond
Release of 476.6 acres of land. These lands were reclaimed between 2003 and 2007. The bond release
included all lands that have been regraded, with drainage re-established in accordance with Trapper
Mine's approved permit. No reduction in the amount of bond held is sought with the bond release
application. The surface ownership is State and private, and the coal mined was Federal, state and
private.
We will contact you to advise you of the Division's required bond release inspection of the site as soon
as it has been scheduled. A proposed decision on the application will be issued within sixty (60) days
of our inspection.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Jason D.
