Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division received Twentymile Coal Company's (TCC) Second Quarter 2007 Coal Waste Pile <br />Inspection Report on July 13, 2008 via e-mail. The report was prepared by North West Colorado <br />Consultants for Twentymile Coal Company. Compaction tests were conducted on April 15, 2008 at <br />locations 374, 375 and 376 in Area 3. A second test during the second quarter 2008 was conducted on <br />May 21, 2008 at location 377, 378 and 379 in Area 3. No problems were noted in the engineer's <br />report with regard to the construction, grading, drainage, or operation of the pile. The Engineer visited <br />the site on June 30, 2008. <br />North West Colorado Consultants, Inc. conducted the inspection and provided their results to TCC. <br />Results of monitoring of 4 piezometers was included in the report. Piezometer 5MW casing has been <br />damaged. TCC reports that there may be dirt down in the casing. This piezometers needs repair prior <br />to winter months. TCC needs to investigate and report the cause of the damage to this well.
