112032-4 <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Trapper Mining Inc., P.O, Box 187, <br />Craig, CO 81626 (CDRMS Permit No. <br />C-81-010, approved 12/31/07), intends <br />to request release of Phase I bond lia- <br />bility on portions of its reclaimed mine <br />lands. A surety bond in the amount of <br />$18,500,000.00 is presently in place. <br />No reduction in the amount of the bond <br />is sought with this bond release appli- <br />cation. <br />Those portions of the. mine for which <br />Phase I bond release liability is re- <br />quested contain 476.6 acres of <br />rangelands reclaimed from 2003 to <br />2007 that have been backfilled and re- <br />graded, with controlled drainages con- <br />structed, retolasoiled and reseeded in <br />accordance vvith CDRMS regulations. <br />A perennial naive grass/forb/mountain <br />shrub community will be established to <br />achieve the past-mining land use of <br />rangeland. <br />This information is being proposed as <br />bond release request SL-8. All reviews <br />and comment periods as provided in <br />the Act and Regulations promulgated <br />thereunder initiate from this date of fil-. <br />ing. Trapper Mine is located 6 112 mi- <br />les south of Craig, Colorado. The spe- <br />cific area to which this proposed bond <br />release request'applies is: <br />TSN, R90W Por:ions of Section 6. <br />TSN, R91 W Portions of Sections 1 <br />and 3. <br />T6N, R90W Portions ofi Section 31. <br />T6N, R91 W Pori ions of Sections 26, . <br />27, 28, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36. <br />The Castor Gulch USGS 7.5-minute <br />quadrangle map contains the location <br />of the affected area. Written com- <br />ments or objections or requests for <br />public hearing or informal conference <br />concerning this bond release applica- <br />tion may be submitted to, and addi- <br />tional information obtained from, the <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Min- <br />ing an$h? 21E Centennial Bldg., <br />1313 3 St., Denver CO 80203, <br />(3 866-35a67n. The! Colorado Division <br />of Reclamation, Mining and Safe <br />must receive comments within 30 days <br />of the last publication of this notice or <br />within 30 days of the onsite inspection, <br />whichever is later.
