Ill. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the OC Mine No. 2, a site where the permit has been revoked and
the bond forfeited. Weather was clear and warm and the ground conditions were dry. The pond was
dry. The fence around the site is in good condition. There was no evidence of cattle grazing inside the
fenced area. The site is stable.
Dan Mathews hand seeded 2.34 acres of the site in October 2006. I observed wheatgrasses and fescue
growing in the seeded area and several scattered young sagebrush. There was some flax and also
several Rocky Mountain penstemon, however the penstemon was not in the 2006 seed mix. Rumex
crispus or Curly dock is still a dominant plant in the reseeded area.
