III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments Include discussion of observations made
during the Inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
Inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete bond release inspection conducted by Janet Binns of CDRMS for exploration permit X-1994-214-
00. Scott Cowman and Joe Shoemaker of BTU-Empire Corporation(BTLJ-EC)accompanied the inspection. The
weather was warm and dry during the inspection. BTU-EC drilled 22 exploration holes in 1994 and 1995. BTU-
Empire Corp. (BTU-EC)submitted a drill hole abandonment report to the Division on March 18. 2003, Eight drill
holes were finished as water wells. These eight drillholes are: 94001,94002,94003,94005. 95001, 950W 95010 and
95012.
The Division received BTU-EC's bond release application on August 14, 2008. The bond release inspection was
conducted on August 27, 2008. Access to the holes was achieved via existing ranch roads and overland. The Division
and TCC were able to locate and access 9 pad areas. Reclaimed drill pads were located using aerial photographs, maps
and UPS coordinates. GPS coordinates generally got us to within 100 yards of the actual pad.
DRMS collected GPS coordinates at the hole locations or at the approximate center of the pad if no evidence of the
hole was apparent. DBMS GPS is a Trimble GeoXT,coordinate system: NAD27. UTM, units=feet.
This was a bond release inspection conducted by Janet Binns of Colorado Division of Reclamation. Mining
and Safety. Joe Shoemaker and Scott Cowman of BTU-EC accompanied the inspection. The weather was
cool and windy, and the area was dry.
Roads: All access roads constmcted to the drill sites were reclaimed. Several of the drill locations were
accessible by existing roads so access roads were not constructed to all the drill holes.
9400 L This drill hole had been finished as a 2" diameter well. There
was no cap on the casing. The location is at the edge of a hayfield.
The ad was ve etated and looked similar to the surrounding hayfield.
94001
94001
94001 A: This site was not located.
