J. MANAGEMENT
The DRMS' letter dated September 23, 2008 transmitted its adequacy response for the
referenced permit revision. On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, following are its responses to
the DRMS' comments and concerns.
No response required.
2. Down gradient baseline groundwater data:
BRL expanded the discussion in Section 2.04.7 to e)plain the difficulties involved in
installing a deep down gradient monitoring well. BRL does not believe it is
economically or technically practicable to install down gradient monitoring wells north
of the proposed mine plan area. The rugged terrain limits potential drill sites. In
addition, it is technologically impracticable and extremely problematic to obtain
representative water samples at depths that exceed 2,000 feet.
BRL updated Map 11 to project the piezometric surface of the aquifer above the
upper B-Seam. A new Map 11-1 was prepared to present a fence diagram section of
the piezometric surface.
BRL requests relief from the installation of down gradient monitoring wells for the
northern mining district contemplated by PR-10 and PRA 1.
The entire section 2.04.7 is enclosed (pages 2.04-22 through 2.04-40) although only pages
2.04-24 and 25 were amended. Amended Map 11 and new Map 11-1 are also enclosed.
Sincerely,
f-
Consulting Engineer
