September 25, 2008
File No. 00036-002
Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety
Phase 313, the former active fresh water pond area, was completely backfilled by
others during the reporting year for the Prairie Waters Pipeline project per
negotiations between the landowner (City of Brighton) and the pipeline project
owner (City of Aurora). Engineered fill designed and constructed by third parties
has already occurred, with pipeline construction through the area scheduled for
fall 2008.
Mining activities at the site occurred within the general phase area noted above.
Disturbance by new mining consisted of the approximately 12.2 acres where
mining was expanded compared to the prior reporting year. Mining also
continued in Ready Mixed Pit No. 1 with processing of that material at Bromley
Lakes Pit as described in TR-003. Gross production for the year at the plant from
both pits was approximately 1,500,000 tons. Proposed new mining disturbance
for the coming year will all occur at adjacent Erger's Pond Pit (north) as noted
above
If you have any questions about the enclosed information, please contact Bill
Timmons or me and we will be happy to assist the Division with any additional
desired information.
Sincerely,
BRIE Y ASSO IATES, C
Alan L.
