EXHIBIT K <br />Climate <br />The existing permit area and the western mining expansion area have similar climate conditions. <br />The closest weather station to the Camilletti Pit is in Hayden, Colorado. The area does not <br />receive the enhanced winter orographic precipitation typical of Steamboat Springs, 23 miles east <br />of Hayden. The average annual precipitation in this area is 16.99 inches. Hayden receives an <br />average of 113.3 inches of snowfall per year. This area also has an average of 113 days with at <br />least 1 inch of snow on the ground. The typical growing season is approximately 80 days. <br />Prevailing winds are from the west.
