PART I
Page No. 18
Permit No.: CO-0000213
Self-monitoring sampling by the pemuttee for compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be
performed at the following location(s): Outfall 007 at the discharge from the sedimentation pond and prior to mixing
with the receiving stream. Outfall 008 at the discharge from the sedimentation pond and prior to mixing with the
receiving stream. Outfall 009-013 at the discharge from the sedimentation ponds and prior to mixing with the
receiving stream.
Footnotes
i/ This parameter is subject to "Noncompliance Notification" requirements of Part II.A.4.b.(4) of this permit for
violations of the Daily Maximum limitation for this parameter.
# Oil and Grease Monitoring
For every outfall with oil and grease monitoring, in the event an oil sheen or floating oil is observed, a grab sample
shall be collected, analyzed, and reported on the appropriate DMR. In addition, corrective action shall be taken
immediately to mitigate the discharge of oil and grease. A description of the corrective action taken should be
included with the DMR.
2. Salinity Parameters
In order to obtain an indication of the quantity of Salinity, measured as total dissolved solids (TDS), being dischazged
from the site the permittee shall monitor the wastewater effluent at the following frequencies:
Outfalls Frequency Sample Tvue
007, 008, 009, 010, 011, 012 013 Quarterly Grab
Seif-monitoring samples taken in compliance with the monitoring requirements specified above shall be taken at those
locations listed in Part I.B.1
C. DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
1. "Chronic lethality" occurs when a statistically significant difference, at the 95 % confidence level, occurs in the chronic
test between the mortality of the test species in 100% effluent (the chronic IWC = 100%) and the control.
2. "Composite" sample is a minimum of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced two (2) hour intervals and
proportioned according to flow.
3. "Continuous" measurement, is a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which continually measures
provides measurements.
4. "Daily Maximum limitation" means the limitation for this parameter shall be applied as an instantaneous maximum (or,
for pH or DO, instantaneous minimum) value. The instantaneous value is defined as the analytical result of any
individual sample. DMRs shall include the maximum (and/or minimum) of all instantaneous values within the calendar
month. Any instantaneous value beyond the noted daily maximum limitation for the indicated parameter shall be
considered a violation of this permit.
5. "Dissolved (D) metals fraction" is defined in the Basic Standards and Methodologies for Surface Water 1002-31, as that
portion of a water and suspended sediment sample which passed .through a 0.40 or 0.45 UM (micron) membrane fitter.
Determinations of "dissolved" constituents aze made using the filtrate. This may include some very small (colloidal)
suspended particles, which passed through the membrane filter as well as the amount of substance present in true chemical
solution.
6. "Grab" sample, is a single "dip and take" sample so as to be representative of the pazameter being monitored.
7. "In-situ" measurement is defined as a single reading, observation or measurement taken in the field at the point of
discharge.
Attachment 2.05.3(3)-18-22
