Since
reapplying for a renewal of the CDPS permit in 2006, Oakridge Energy completed final
reclamation of the surface coal mining operation in accordance with the requirements of
the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (CDRMS) Permit C-92-081.
CDRMS approved the final reclamation as well as removal of the sediment ponds and
sediment control structures after Oakridge Energy demonstrated that the reclaimed
project site met applicable requirements for sediment generation and compliance with
water quality standards (CDRMS approvals for Phase I surety release SL-03, Technical
Revision-15 and Minor Revision-06).
As final reclamation is complete, with exception of sediment control facilities
reclamation (which is scheduled for this autumn), Oakridge Energy requests that WQCD
terminate the above permit and provide written concurrence with the request for
termination.
