The problems should be corrected by the dates given, or they will become possible <br />violations. The possible violations should be corrected by the dates given to reduce their severity when considered <br />by the Mined Land Reclamation Board. The inspector noted on the previous page should be notified of all <br />corrective actions taken. <br />PROBLEMS/POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS <br />AND <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />CORRECTION <br />Problem: DATE <br />The topsoil stockpiles have been in place for three years and have not been seeded. 12/31/08 <br />They do not have established vegetation on them and are therefore susceptible to erosion. <br />Rule 3.1.9 (1) states that if topsoil is not replaced into the backfill area within a time short <br />enough to avoid deterioration of the topsoil, vegetative cover or other means shall be <br />employed so that the topsoil is protected from erosion. <br />PB or PV: P_ <br />TOPIC(S): IS. <br />Corrective Action: <br />The Operator will need to seed the topsoil stockpiles with the revised quick cover crop seed <br />mix that was submitted as part of the reclamation plan. This seed mix is comprised of: <br />Russian Wild Rye (5 lbs. / acre) and Western Wheatgrass (5 lbs. / acre). The topsoil stockpiles <br />shall be seeded no earlier than October 15, 2008 and no later than December 31, 2008. The <br />Operator shall demonstrate compliance by submitting seed tags, a bill of sale, or <br />photographs of the seeding activities. The Operator may also request a follow up inspection.
