PUBLIC NOTICE <br />CAM MINING LLC, P.O. Box 98, Loma, CO 81524, has submitted an application for a <br />partial bond release to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for its Munger <br />Canyon Mine, mining permit No. C-1981-020. The mining permit was initially approved on <br />January 13, 1983 and most recently renewed on January 13, 2008. The current <br />reclamation bond is $230,000 and is in the form of a corporate surety. This permit action <br />will release approximately $130,000 of the bond amount. The area for which partial bond <br />release is being requested is the Loma Loadout, Munger Canyon portal site, haul road and <br />coal mine waste disposal area. <br />During 2001 the 2.9 acre Loma loadout was contoured and seeded. During 2006 a 1.6 <br />acre light use road located in Munger Canyon was contoured and seeded. The mine portal <br />area, haul road and coal mine waste disposal area were contoured and seeded during <br />2007. All buildings, structures and facilities at the mine site and Loma loadout were <br />removed. Sealing of the underground mine openings was performed in accordance with <br />the approved plan and MSHA regulations <br />The Munger Canyon Mine is located approximately 18 miles north of Loma, CO along <br />State Highway 139. East Salt Creek is located on western portion of the permit boundary. <br />Most of the surface of the permit area is owned by the United States. The permit area is <br />encompassed within portions of Sections 27, 28 and 29 of Township 7 South, Range 102 <br />West, 6th P.M. A portion of the permit area in section 29 is owned by #11 Enterprises. <br />The Loma Loadout is approximately one-half mile east of Loma, Colorado. The surface of <br />the permit area is owned by the Union Pacific Railroad. The permit area is encompassed <br />within portions of the SW1/4SW1/4 of Section 34 Township 2 North, Range 3 West, Ute <br />Meridian and portions of the NEB/4NW'/4 of Section 3 Township 1 North, Range 3 West, Ute <br />Meridian. <br />The mine site sections are contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Howard <br />Canyon and Garvey Canyon Quadrangle maps. The Loadout sections are contained <br />within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Mack Quadrangle Map. <br />A copy of the bond release application is available for public inspection at the Mesa <br />County Clerk and Recorder's office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CO. A copy of the <br />approved permit application document, as well as the bond release application, are <br />available at the Denver and Grand Junction offices of the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety [Room 215, 1313 Sherman St., Denver, CO 80203, (303) 866-3567; <br />and 101 South 3rd, Suite 301, Grand Junction, CO 81501, (970) 243-1571]. Written <br />comments or objections to the proposed release, and a request for a public hearing or <br />informal conference may be submitted to and additional information obtained from the <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, Co. <br />80203-2273, phone (303) 866-3567. Comments, objections or requests for a public <br />hearing or informal conference must be made within thirty (30) days of the last <br />publication of this notice or within thirty (30) days of the completed bond release <br />inspection, whichever is later.
