Stormwater drainage and sediment traps have been
maintained. Uphill water diversions have been maintained above the active areas in
accordance with NPDES. General site cleanup has continued, with additional scrap steel
recycling and some wildfire/ pine beetle mitigation. MRV has begun work within the St.
Joe area of the permit boundary, eliminating the open hole hazard of the St. Joe shaft and
preparing it for access with a DRMS compliant closure.
MRV is proud to be able to include that we are the recipient of the 2007 Colorado
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety & the Colorado Mining Association -
Colorado Mine Health & Safety Small Underground Metal Mine Award for 2.6 years of
no lost-time injuries.
Active mining of gold-silver ore is ongoing under this permit. No changes to the
permitted limits of production have been made. MRV celebrated one year of mine and
mill production in 2008 with the continued shipment of gold & silver concentrate. MRV
plans on continuing mining operations as permitted by the Division.
