ANNUAL REPORT
Operator: United Companies of Mesa County
Location: _ Railhead Pit
File Number: M-1995-036
Anniversary Date: October 19, 2008
Railhead continues to be active serving as a site for mainly waste asphalt and concrete
rubble stockpiles. Please refer to the enclosed map as to the various stockpiles that we
have at this pit. The asphalt and concrete is in the process of being crushed. Most of the
asphalt will be recycled through the hot plant. The concrete is crushed into a reusable
concrete base course material. United started selling landscape rock so those piles will be
sold to end use customers for various projects. United is still considering using Railhead
Pit as an unloading location for gravel from another pit by way of the railroad. However,
this project is currently in the cost analysis portion and if it happens could be as much as
a year away.
Weeds are sprayed a minimum of twice a year and weed manage is satisfactory here.
Tamarisk is being treated and is on its way out.
Sincerely,
Justin Aubert
Resource / Environmental Manager
