Because of the scale of the map that was provided, it is difficult to clearly see the
topographic location of the proposed project. As a result, it is not clear if any of these sites are located
within the proposed permit area. Sites 5RB661 and 5RB4692 are recommended as not eligible for the
National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) based on field assessments. Site 5RB4190 needs data
before an eligibility assessment can be made. We recommend that mining-related activities avoid all
sites.
Should human remains be discovered during resource extraction activities the requirements under State
law CRS 24-80 part 13 apply and must be followed.
Please note that our review of your project is expedited when you indicate the extent of the
proposed permit area on a legible portion of the appropriate and clearly identified 7.5 minute
USGS topographic map.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment. If we may be of further assistance, please contact Shina
duVall, Section 106 Compliance Coordinator, at (303) 866-4674 or shina.duvall cr,chs.state.co.us.
Sincerely,
I
Edward C.
