MANAGEMENT
The DRMS' letter dated August 1, 2008 transmitted its adequacy response for the
referenced permit revision. On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, following are its
responses to the DRMS' comments and concerns.
No response required.
2. Down gradient baseline groundwater data:
A. BRL opted to use existing groundwater baseline data rather than gather new
baseline data. The HydroGeo, Inc. report dated September 2, 2008 uses
baseline data to predict down gradient water quality in the B-Seam and the
water bearing zone above the B-Seam. The report provides expected ranges
in values for pH, total dissolved solids, total Iron and total Manganese.
Amended section 2.04.7 is enclosed. A paragraph that references the
HydroGeo report was added to page 2.04-24. The list of groundwater
monitoring wells on page 2.04-27 was updated. A sentence was added to
page 2.04-38 to state that mine water inflows have decreased as of August
2008. The HydroGeo report should be inserted into Volume III, Exhibit 3.
B. No response required.
C. Page 2.05-75ii was previously amended to state the Rollins Sandstone will
not be impacted by the mine workings because of the hydraulic isolation of
the Rollins sandstone. Map 08 Geologic Cross Section A-A was amended to
show the separation and the character of the material between the B-Seam
and Rollins sandstone. Page 2.05-75ii was amended to reference the two
holes shown on Map 08 that show the hydraulic isolation of the Rollins
sandstone.
