Gunnison sage grouse and boreal toad are listed as candidate species. Of these three species only
the boreal toad may be found at elevations above the E-Seam panels 1 & 2 area. There is no
suitable habitat for either the yellow-billed cuckoo or Gunnison sage grouse. All the above
species were discussed in the 2007 E-Seam Methane Drainage Habitat and Wildlife Report.
Because habitat conditions have not changed since that report was prepared and none of the
listed species were observed they will not be addressed in detail in this report.
HABITAT & SPECIES DISTRIBUTION
Table 1 displays current information on habitat and T&E species' presence within the project
area.
Table 1
THREATENED & ENDANGERED SPECIES
Project Name: Mountain Coal Company E-Seam Panels 1 & 2 Project Wildlife
Surveys
Species Status Habitat Present Species Present
& E Species

Canada lynx T No Unknown
Colorado pikeminnow No No
Humpback chub No No
Razorback sucker No No
Ponytail No No
Uncompahgre fritillary
butterfly E No No
Uinta Basin Hookless Cactus T No No
Clay loving wild buckwheat E No No
Candidate Species
Yellow-billed cuckoo S.C No No
Gunnison sage grouse S,C No No
Boreal toad S,C Yes Unknown - Boreal
oads could occur
igher elevations.
3
