(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-19Rn-1 a3
INSPECTION DATE: 8/15/ng INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: KAP_
OBSERVATIONS
1. This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety's 4-year
monitoring program. Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford, DRMS, and Bruce Neil, Neil's
Excavation. Weather at the time of the inspection was cloudy, calm, and approximately 60 degrees.
2. The site is accessed off of CR 502 just west of CR 501. Disturbance at the site consists of an excavation
into the side of an embankment. On top of the embankment is pine forest. The floor of the pit contains
multiple stockpiles of material. The embankment resulting from the removal of materials is graded to a
slope of approximately 3H:1 V. The designated vegetation is not well established on the slope. Mr. Neil
stated that periodically sheep graze the slope and remove much of the desired, established
vegetation.
3. Some erosional rilling is present the slope. This is likely a result of the vegetation not being established
and the use of the area by sheep may exacerbate the situation. In order for the required reclamation
vegetation to become established, it may be necessary to keep grazing animals off of the slope for a
few years. The Operator should take measures, in the meantime to stabilize the slope where rilling is
present, to prevent the development of a deeper erosional feature that may require additional grading
of the slope.
4. All other conditions at the site appear to be within the guidelines of the approved application. A bond
calculation will be conducted separately to determine whether the current bond is adequate for
reclamation of the site.
I & E Contact Address Cc: ?
?
