(GGI), is pleased to provide this letter and the attachments as documentation of
our amendments to the Golden Wonder stormwater management plan. GGI is authorized by LKA
International to act in their behalf in regards to environmental permitting issues and compliance.
We have also provided for you, a letter documenting our Power of Attorney and ability to sign on
behalf of Kye Abraham/President/LKA International.
The Golden Wonder operator (Richmont Mines Inc.) recently replaced the Level 6 roll and dip
features with culverts (Figure 1). The roll-and-dip features were problematic from the standpoint of
creating high-center hazards to mine vehicles. In addition, a cap comprised of Level 3 alluvium
was added to the Level 6 pad in order to create a barrier between any rainfall and the Level 6 pad
material which is partially comprised of waste rock. Paste pH measures were taken from the Level
3 alluvium to assure the fact that this material does not contain any acid generation characteristics.
In addition, a sample of alluvium was analyzed for Acid Base Accounting (ABA) parameters and
forms of sulfur. Results indicate that the alluvium contains buffering capacity (net neutral), neutral
pH and non-reactive forms of sulfur (organic residual and sulfate). Attached are photographs
depicting the culverts and the Level 6 cap, paste pH results from Level 3 materials, and the
alluvium sample ABA analysis.
In addition, as you are aware, GGI/LKA is in the midst of addressing concerns surrounding the
tentative hydrologic connection between the adjacent Deadman Gulch with the Golden Wonder
Level 6 pad. Water quality and quantity conditions observed earlier during spring melt, associated
2200 E.
