Hard Rock/Metal Mining Permit Application
Limited Impact Operation (110(2))
Venture Resources, Inc. - Emma Mine
Exhibit C Rev. I- Mining Plan
The "Garland" Shaft, located on the Emma Lode Mineral Survey 47261, is an existing 240' (approx.) shaft. This is
connected with the 2"d underground level of the Dove's Nest mine (MS# 5947).
The shaft is currently open without a collar or enclosure, as shown in Figure 1. Immediately upon commencement
of mining operations, once approved around September I, 2008, a shaft collar/closure will be constructed according
to Exhibit E.
Via, r_ r ,.v ? r
Figure 1 - Garland Shaft Opening, June 2, 2008
The access road is a public, county non-maintained road (see engineered evaluation Exhibit L). Currently, the road
averages 10 - 12' in width and is constructed of materials developed during its construction. There is no evidence of
any improvements or maintenance of this road in several decades. This roadway does not continue through to any
other road systems. Occasionally, perhaps twice annually depending on conditions, the operations will employ a
road grader to maintain the road. This could only be- seen as a drastic improvement over the currently existing
condition of the road. Clear Creek County Road and Bridge Department publishes standards for how the
maintenance is to be done. No new roads will be constructed.
An existing 20'x20' bench on the surface, west and adjacent to the shaft, will be used for the construction of a
12'x16' tool storage shed. A 25'x30' concrete pad will be constructed adjacent to and east of the shaft opening for
short term storage (less than 30 days) of ore and staging of operations. A 12'x 16' hoist building will be constructed
adjacent to and north of the shaft. This will be for a future electric hoist and air compressor.
The vein, as exposed in the Garland Shaft, dips 45° northerly and is 3'-8' wide. Mining will commence by re-
timbering the shaft. Stope fill and vein ore will be produced at a rate of approximately 40 tons/day with a
maximum of 100 tons/day. The pad to the east of the shaft will be used as a temporary stock pile area (less than 30
days). All material (ore, waste rock, sub-grade ore, etc.) produced and removed from the mine will be removed
from the site for otrsite processing. A front end loader and 10 cu. yd. dump truck will be used to transport this
material offsite.
Explosives may be used during mining operations- Individual blasts shall not exceed 150 pounds of explosives. At
these quantities, no discernable effects will be noticed at offsite areas. Additionally, storage amounts of explosives
shall limited by permitting with the US BATF.
