4) Build a new valley leach facility in the already affected area in Arequa Gulch.
5) Increase the ore lift in phase's I-IV of the valley leach facility from the current approved
height of 590 feet to 800 feet for a total of 110 million tons of additional ore and 250 million
tons of overburden.
6) Add an enrichment circuit to the ARD (approved under AM-08 but never utilized), that will
allow an additional 14,900 gpm pumping capacity to the Valley Leach Facility.
7) Change the access road for the mine's fuel supply route from Arequa to the Iron Clad area.
8) Construct a new Geology building in the Ajax head frame area.
9) Re-locate the existing sub-station.
10) Incorporate Permit # M-1991-134 (The Cameron Project) into the Cresson permit area (M-
1980-244.
11) The total affected area permit acreage as proposed under this Amendment are as follows: 1)
1498 acres surface mine areas 2) 616 acres, overburden storage areas, 3) 514 acres valley leach
facility and 4) 15.4 acres Carlton Tunnel Discharge area, for a total of 4199 acres. The total
affected area includes major disturbances of 2,830.2 acres, ancillary disturbances of 1354.3
acres, plus the 15.4 acres of disturbances at the Carlton Tunnel Discharge area.
I) Exhibit A-Legal Description-Rule 6.1.
This section is adequate as submitted.
II) Exhibit B-Index Map-Rule 6.4.2
This section is adequate as submitted.
III) Exhibit C-Pre-Mining and Mining Plan Maps-Rule 6.4.3
A. Has the operator identified all owners of records of adjacent lands in Drawing C-1? This
map does not have the description of the purple colored land owner along the North Side
of the permit area. In addition, please verify that all the colors depicted on the map
correlate to the colors listed on the map legend.
B. Drawing C-1a is labeled as permit boundary, adjacent land owners and permanent man-
made structures within 200 feet (within Victor city limits). Are there any man made
structures with in 200 feet of the City of Cripple Creek, other than the old mine structures?
Why is the tourist railroad track located within the permit area not noted as a structure in
drawing C-1? Does CC&V own the rail road trucks? Please explain.
C. Drawing C-4a, which is an aerial photograph of the permit area, has the permit boundary
and all the facilities inked in red, blue and yellow lines. However, there is no legend
explaining these different colored identifiers. It would help the reader if a legend such as
the one submitted in AM-08 map labeled Permit Boundary was included. Please submit this
as requested. In addition the City of Victor is missing from this map. Please include when
the map is re-submitted.
D. On drawing C-5 (conceptual mining phases) the only alternative overburden storage area
expansion is expected to occur in the Squaw Gulch overburden storage area. What about
the East Cresson overburden storage area?
2
