RECLAMATION PLAN EXHIBIT E (cont) WEED CONTROL The revegetated areas will be monitored. closely each spring for-the first two years to determine if weeds are invading the area. Weed control will be initiated if the, problem becomes serious or has not resolved itself by the end of the second year. In no way should this be taken to mean that we will try to eradicate the weeds from the property. It may be necessary to control weeds by mowing after the first year; the feasibility of chemical controls will be studied should it be necessary. Some weeds are beneficial to the seedbed by providing protection for the new grass from the elements during wintE!r. Total eradication of weeds from the site is not necessary desirable, so the opera- tor will be using controls on the noxious wE?eds and letting the rest grow in select areas. IRRIGATION No irrigation is planned for revegetatE?d area in the pit, it tends to make the vegetation dependent on water and does not -- promote a vegetation cover that is diverse and capable of self regeneration. The landowner may wish to irrigate the slopes with water they have available for that purpose. WETLANDS There are no wetlands on the site. TREES All existing trees will be removed from the site by the landowners prior to mining beginning. Tree planting is not part of this plan but the landowners may wish to add trees and shrubs in selected areas as the area is reclaimed. RECLAM4 TION PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The property will be mined in compliance with the Reclama- tion Performance Standards of Rule 6. Grading will be performed to create a final topography that is compatible with the intended final land use. The area will retain its present drainage pattern as much as practical. The RECLAMATION PLAN MAP shows how the area will be reclaimed. Imported fill materials will be used to fill the excavated area and level the property. This material may consist of broken concrete or other materials suitable for that purpose. It will
